On Hearing that the Trump Administration Is Delaying Putting Harriet Tubman on the $20 Bill
As Martin Luther King, Jr. put it
Sometimes “wait” means “never.”
What do they fear?
that Harriet will bleed monthly over all those fresh, green bills
A bloody stain on our history?
To some, women are dirtier than money
dirtier than ripping
A bawling child from its terrified parents.
